2017 #Reds Media Guide

Youth movement highlights this year’s cover

The most common question I get regarding my job would probably be, “what do you do in the offseason?” Well, believe it or not, there is work to be done when the team isn’t on the field.

The major offseason project for the Reds Media Relations department is producing the team’s media guide. The media guide is a reference book tailored to those who cover the team on a regular basis. It contains hundreds of pages of Reds information, including player bios, stats, minor league information, records, history, etc.

The cover of the 2017 Reds Media Guide features Tucker Barnhart, Anthony DeSclafani, Eugenio Suarez, Michael Lorenzen, Raisel Iglesias, Brandon Finnegan and Adam Duvall.

Collectively, that talented group represents the team’s youth movement and the direction the organization is heading. While our original list for cover inclusion was much longer, we decided on those 7 players because they are our only players with fewer than 3 years of service time who accumulated a full season of service in 2016.
