Today I attended the Moeller High School Athletic Hall of Fame Luncheon at the Montgomery Inn to see my friend Ron Roth inducted into the Crusaders’ HOF.  Ron is a baseball and golf coach at Moeller and also works at Great American Ball Park as the official scorer during Reds games.  

In 18 seasons as Moeller’s freshman baseball coach, Ron has compiled a 399-78 record with 14 Greater Catholic League titles. In 2011, Ron scored the longest game in GABP history – 5 hours and 2 minutes…a game that will forever be called the “Ron-A-Thon!”

Congrats, Ron!

The presser was attended by the Reds’ Phil Castellini and Kroger’s Rachel Betzler.  Thom Brennaman, who had no idea there was a press conference taking place and was coincidentally in the Kroger store at the same time buying 20 bags of dog food, was invited to say a few words.  Rather than speak about the Reds/Kroger partnership, Thom spent 45 minutes talking about his “extreme couponing” habit.

Groups were split up today according to height. This is the "Tall" group.
