#VOTEREDS TWITTER LUNCH – TODAY!

Beginning today at noon ET, we will have our first #VoteReds Twitter Lunch of the 2013 All-Star election season!

For those of you not familiar with Vote Reds Twitter lunch, it’s simply a fun way to engage fellow Reds fans to vote for our prospective Cincinnati All-Stars during the regular Wednesday lunch break.

Help us get our Reds into the 2013 All-Star Game by taking a few minutes during lunch today to cast your ballot!

All you need to do is:

  • Treat yourself to a delicious lunch
  • Log onto Reds.com/Vote and cast your ballot for the 2013 MLB All-Star Game (Vote Reds!)
  • Tweet me using the hashtag #VoteReds to confirm you participated (photos are encouraged but aren’t necessary)
  • That’s it!

I will post a “roll call” of those who participated right here on Better Off Red prior to tonight’s Reds/Marlins game.

For you west coast Reds fans, don’t worry – you most definitely are in on this, too.  We eastern time zoners are going to give you ample time to participate, as well.

One lucky participant today will win a 47 Brand Reds t-shirt straight from the Reds Team Shop by Majestic.

VOTE REDS AND #VOTEREDS SOME MORE!

With the Reds having today off (to travel), I can’t think of a better time to familiarize yourself with the 2013 MLB All-Star Voting process!  From now until 11:59pm ET on July 4, you can vote for your favorite Reds players to make the all-star team.  Simply go to Reds.com/Vote and vote up to 25 times per email address.

If you’re a long-time reader of Better Off Red, you’re probably familiar with the #VoteReds Twitter Lunches.  The #VoteReds lunches take place weekly on Twitter during voting season and consist of Reds tweeps casting their online all-star votes during their lunch break, using the hashtag #VoteReds.  Voters then tweet me what they had/are having for lunch (photos are encouraged) and list how many times they cast their ballot for prospective Cincinnati all-stars.  At the end of the day, all of the #VoteReds participants get a special mention right here on Better Off Red.

The first #VoteReds Twitter Lunch of 2013 is scheduled for THIS Wednesday, May 15 at noon ET.  Attendance is required!

I hope you can join me and your fellow Reds fans today at Great American Ball Park’s Fox Sports Ohio Champions Club from 11:30 to 1:30 as we dine on free pizza and soft drinks while we VOTE REDS!

Your encouraged to bring your laptop and use our free wi-fi as we pile on the votes for Brandon Phillips, Joey Votto, Jay Bruce and all of our other deserving all-stars.

Please enter through the main gates of Great American Ball Park (Crosley Terrace, where the statues are located).  There’s plenty of parking around the ballpark, including the public landing.

From today’s Reds gamenotes, I read this very disturbing news:

2B Brandon Phillips is second in the All-Star Game voting at his position to Rickie Weeks by 78,397 votes…1B Joey Votto has dropped to third behind Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder…Scott Rolen remains fifth among third basemenand Jay Bruce remains sixth among outfielders.

This is simply unacceptable.  Joey Votto is the reigning National League Most Valuable Player, Brandon Phillips is the best second baseman in the National League and Cincinnati Reds fans take a back-seat to NO ONE (especially Milwaukee). 

1+1+1=”We better get our boys to Phoenix”.

#VOTEREDSLUNCH AT GREAT AMERICAN BALL PARK JUNE 29

As the voting winds down for the 2011 MLB All-Star Game, the Reds want you to kick it into overdrive to get our boys to Phoenix!  

As you know, I’ve been hosting a weekly #VoteRedsLunch on Twitter in order to drum up support for our deserving All-Stars.  Well, we’re going to do it again this coming Wednesday (June 29) , but this time, with a twist…… 

Rather than an online lunch, you’re all invited to join me in real life (!) from 11:30am to 1:30pm in the Fox Sports Ohio Champions Club inside Great American Ball Park!!

We will feast on free pizza and soft drinks and vote, vote, vote for our Reds team! 

Simply enter through the main gates of GABP between 11:30am and 1:30pm and you’ll be directed to Campaign Headquarters.

We will have some laptops for you to use to vote, but you’re encouraged to bring your own (or ipads, tablets, etc).

Sound good?!  Let’s do this! Vote Reds!!!
