THE UMPTEEN DAYS OF CHRISTMAS: DAY THREE

As promised, the Better Off Red elves are giving you a chance to win some very cool Reds-related gifts as a “thank you” for your support in 2012!  It’s a little something we like to call “The Umpteen Days of Christmas.”

Every day through Friday, December 21st, you’ll have the opportunity to win a top-of-the-line prize. Here’s how…

This year, Reds staffer Nick St. Pierre (and at times, others) has filmed reenactments from some of my personal favorite holiday classics.  In order for you to win the daily prize, you have to submit the next line of the scene in the comments section of that day’s post.

- For example, if you see Nick reenacting the scene from It’s a Wonderful Life in which Zuzu Bailey says, “Every time a bell rings,” your response should be: “An angel gets his wings.”

Easy enough?

Day Three’s prize is an autographed Chris Welsh jersey…

Finish the scene by leaving the next line in the comments section below.

You’ll notice I’ve made the actual comments in the comments section invisible to you and other readers.  This is to cut down on “cheating.”  Once you submit your comment, it will be automatically emailed to me, where only I’ll be able read your answer.  I’ll put all the correct answers in a pile from which I’ll choose one random winner, daily.  If you win, I’ll contact you via email.

And remember – no matter what holiday you celebrate this time of the year, Better Off Red celebrates it, too. Thus, all of you are encouraged to participate!

Congratulations to Day Two’s randomly selected winner, Mary DeArmond, who correctly responded with “Well, somehow Rudolph and Hermey managed to get through the first night.”  Mary wins the Ryan Ludwick signed baseball.

We’ll announce Day Three’s winner tomorrow. Good luck!

We’ll announce Day Two’s winner tomorrow. Good luck!

THE UMPTEEN DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – 2012

Last year, the elves here at Better Off Red introduced something we deemed “The Umpteen Days of Christmas.”  For a period of several days in December we gave away some really, REALLY cool Reds prizes as a “thank you” for your support of the team and the blog.

Well guess what!?  We’re going to make it an annual tradition…

No matter what holiday you celebrate this time of the year, we here at BOR celebrate it, too.  So, as long as you read the blog and root for the Reds, you’re welcome (and encouraged) to participate in our Umpteen Days of Christmas daily giveaway contests.  The elves have more great presents to give away and I know you’ll love what we have for ya.

We’ll get started tomorrow (Wednesday) and go through Friday, December 21st.

Get ready, everybody!

Jamie

AND THE WINNER IS…

Congratulations to Ryan P. (@redsfan_4192) who was randomly selected as the winner of the Zack Cozart autographed jersey.

Thanks again to all of you who participated in the Umpteen Days of Christmas!  I hope you had as much as I did.

Last week our own Bob Castellini, Marty Brennaman and Gapper filmed their parts for ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas – Cincinnati All-Star edition …featuring many local celebs reading parts from the classic holiday poem:

The 2011 version is update from WLWT’s original video from 1992:

I’ll have lots more in a bit. Stick around…

THE UMPTEENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS

Well here we are, the final day of the “Umpteen Days of Christmas.”  We’ve had a lot of fun giving out some great Reds gifts over the past couple of weeks.  Even if you didn’t win, I hope you enjoyed participating.

I wouldn’t have been able to give away these prizes without the support from all of the departments in the Reds organization that donated them.  This includes (in no particular order) the Reds Community Fund, Reds Authentics, the Reds Hall of Fame, Reds Ticket Sales, Nick St. Pierre and Game Day Events.

A very special thank you to the very awesome Lisa Braun for helping out and sending out all of the items.

Congratulations to yesterday’s winner - Jeff Davis!

Since this is the last day, I think you’d agree we should give out a very special prize.  So here goes…

Today’s gift is an autographed Zack Cozart jersey (size 48), courtesy of the Reds Game Day Events department.

If you’re interested in winning this glorious prize, tell me why in the comments section below.  One lucky winner will be chosen and announced tomorrow.  Good luck!
