6-23-06 vs Padres

From my pal @Bongreatness

Tonight is the 7th annual Zoo Night at Great American Ball Park. Weather permitting, there will be 12 animals on hand to visit with fans in the Fan Zone from 5:40-6:15PM as well as during the 1st inning of tonight’s game. The animals will take a tour around the warning track of the ballpark during pregame ceremonies beginning at approximately 6:35PM.

As part of Zoo Night we also welcome back “Sam” the Bald Eagle from the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens for his third ceremonial flight of the 2016 season, taking place at the conclusion of tonight’s National Anthem. Sam will be making two more flights at games later this season.

Tonight is the second Kid Glove Game of the 2016 season. Now in its 68th consecutive season, the Kid Glove program has helped raise more than ten million dollars to buy baseball & softball equipment for more than 40,000 youngsters in the Greater Cincinnati area.

During pregame ceremonies we will also honor Shakila Ahmad with a Reds Community Advocate Award, presented by TriHealth. Shakila is the president of the board of the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati and has dedicated herself to community enriching endeavors for the past 20 years.
