GOODYEAR: REPORTING FOR DUTY

So nice to be in Goodyear where the sun is bright, the weather is warm and the Reds are on the field!

Today is my first full day at the Reds Player Development Complex after arriving to town last night with my colleagues Lisa Braun and Larry Herms.

The first thing I’ve noticed so far since I’ve arrived is the large amount of unfamiliar faces in camp.  I have a handy-dandy cheat sheet in my office featuring all of the Reds headshots that I’ve had to consult more than a few times.

There are still a lot of guys here we all know; it was great to see and say hello to JJ Hoover, Billy Hamilton, Jumbo Diaz, Ryan Mattheus, John Lamb, Chad WallachTony Cingrani, Tucker Barnhart, Amir Garrett, Cody Reed, Don Long, Mark RigginsJim Riggleman and manager Bryan Price.  Raisel Iglesias also greeted me in perfect English.

The first game is tomorrow against the Indians at Goodyear Ballpark at 1:05pm (3:05pm Cincy time).   In the meantime, check out a few photos from today’s practice, including a few shots of Billy Hamilton and Joey Votto taking jump shots at a bucket that sat about 30 feet away.  Billy made one.
