Heading into the 2016 season, Davis had been rated the Yankee organization’s sixth-best prospect by Baseball America and 10th-best by Milb.com.

Renda, 24, originally was selected by Washington in the second round of the 2012 draft out of the University of California. He began 2015 rated the Nationals’ 12th-best prospect and hitter with the best strike zone discipline but on June 11 was traded to the Yankees in exchange for RHP David Carpenter.
