TUESDAY’S #REDS LINEUP; VOTTO WATCH
In yesterday’s 5-1 loss at Washington, Joey Votto went 1-for-3 with a walk to extend his streak of reaching base safely to 45 straight games. It’s the longest such current streak in the Majors.
Overall this season, Joey has reached base safely in 140 of his 153 appearances.
With 6 games remaining in the season, Votto is trying to join Barry Bonds (4x), Ted Williams (3x) and Babe Ruth (2x) as the only players in Major League history to hit at least .300 (.318) with 30 home runs (29) and 150 walks (141).
From my pal @Bongreatness…
Delivering the official Game Ball today will be (ret.) Navy Commander Willie Anderson. Mr. Anderson is completing a lifelong journey of seeing a baseball game at every current Major League ballpark with tonight’s Reds/Cubs matchup at GABP.
GET WELL BILLY
