During pregame ceremonies today we will welcome hundreds of the volunteers that comprised the Community Organizing Committee (COC) for the 2015 All-Star Game. The volunteers will participate in a pregame parade around the warning track and co-chairs of the committee – Melanie Chavez, Sharry Addison, Delores Hargrove-Young & Lauren Bosse will offer up a simultaneous ceremonial first pitch. We will also host a ceremony to honor and recognize a group of leaders who were instrumental in pulling together city, county & state offices and entities in one collaborative effort for our region to host the All-Star Game.

Today is “Lauren Hill Day” at Great American Ball Park, in conjunction with the Lawrenceburg, Indiana, community that she grew up in. As part of today’s event the Lawrenceburg community will present Lauren’s family with a donation for the Lauren Hill “Fight For Cure” foundation as part of fundraising efforts at today’s game.

Rafael Gonzalez of Florence, KY, will receive the keys to a brand new Toyota Tundra during pregame ceremonies from representatives of the Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Toyota Dealers. Rafael won the Tundra thanks to Jay Bruce’s 8th inning home run on Thursday night.

During the end of the 1st inning break today we will salute Cincinnati Enquirer sportswriter John Fay. Fay, who is leaving the Reds beat at the end of the 2015 season, has been covering the club for the Enquirer since 2001.
