FRIDAY’S #REDS LINEUP; BASELINE ITEMS
From my pal @Bongreatness…
Tonight is the 13th Fireworks Friday of the 2015 season, presented by Adam’s Recovery Center. The postgame fireworks show will begin approximately 10 minutes after the conclusion of tonight’s game and feature Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks set to a Disney themed soundtrack.
During pregame ceremonies we will recognize Reds Way Employee of the Month for the month of September, Retail Associate Tori Pfeiffer.
Also during pregame ceremonies representatives of GE, PNC Bank & Encore Technologies will make a $7,000 donation to the March of Dimes on behalf of a promotion tied to each Reds home run hit during the 2015 season.
May main man Bill “Seg” Dennison tonight will be presented with the prestigious Colerain High School Distinguished Alumni Award during halftime of the Colerain/Middletown football game.
Seg is a fixture on the Cincinnati airwaves (700 WLW) and at Great American Ball Park, assisting in the production of Reds on Radio broadcasts. He joins the likes of Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune and former Major League pitcher Roger McDowell in receiving this celebrated honor.
HE WON A TUNDRA!
Thanks to Jay Bruce’s 8th inning home run last night off Hansel Robles, Rafael Gonzalez of Florence, KY won a brand new Toyota Tundra!
Normally winning the Tundra requires a home run ball to hit the actual truck that rests high above GABP or one of the specific signs inside the ballpark. However, the rules were loosened last night to allow a winner if a Reds home run landed anywhere between the rightfield foul pole and the edge of the Sun/Moon Deck seats (Section 146). Bruce’s homer landed in the Moon Deck seats, where Gonzalez was sitting.
Gonzalez will receive the keys to his brand new Tundra prior to tomorrow’s game with the Mets.
Joey Votto last night went 2-for-3 with a walk. He’s reached base safely in 41 consecutive games and in 135 of his 148 appearances this season. Votto is currently batting .316 with 29 homers and 138 walks and is trying to join Barry Bonds, Ted Williams and Babe Ruth as the only players in Major League history to hit at least .300 with 30 homers and 150 walks. He has 10 games left to do it.
NEW BOR STICKERS COMING SOON!
That’s all for now. More in a bit!
Expect good news!
