Hi folks – I’ve returned from the road trip and am happy to be back in Better Off Red Headquarters!

-Before we get started, I have some All-Star Game mystery prizes to give away, so let’s do that now.  In the Comments Section of this blog post, tell me who your favorite Reds rookie is and why.  I’ll choose one random winner and publish his/her comment.  That person will win the mystery ASG prizes!

-Speaking of Reds rookies, I’m not sure if you saw this or not…while in Chicago, Reds veterans asked the Reds newbies to walk to the Starbucks across the street from Wrigley Field – in FULL UNIFORM – to pick up coffee for the entire clubhouse…

-This guy has been simply amazing…

Raisel Iglesias has now entered into some elite company.  From Elias:

Elias also says no other Reds pitcher (ever) in the modern era recorded at least 10 strikeouts in each of three consecutive games or three consecutive starts.  Very impressive.

-I really think you Reds fans are going to like John Lamb.  Not only is he pretty good at what he does for a living but he’s also a super-friendly (and interesting) guy. It’s really easy to root for him.  BOR is planning a Q&A with John during this upcoming homestand, so be sure to tune in for that.

– Thanks to my pal Zach Weber – current Brewers media relations staffer and former Reds intern – for the newest collections to the BOR bobblehead collection!  Zach hooked me up when I was in Milwaukee last week.

-Are you folks planning to attend the Brandon Phillips Bowling Bash on Saturday?

– Congratulations to Reds farmhand Amir Garrett (LHP), who earlier this week was named Florida State League Co-Pitcher of the Year!  Garrett has posted a 9-7 record while pitching to a 2.44 ERA this season for A-Daytona, including a 7-2 record with a 1.72 ERA in the second half.  Garrett is one of our favorites here at Better Off Red and we couldn’t be more proud of him!

That’s all for now.  Lineup and Homestand Highlights coming up…

Expect good news,

Although I have been impressed with a few Reds rookies I’d have to say Rasiel Iglesias is my favorite Rookie. His domination on the mound is a pleasure to watch
