Tonight we have a special Wednesday night edition of our postgame Fireworks Show series, presented by PNC Bank. Tonight’s show was originally rained out on Opening Night (April 8). Tonight’s show will begin approximately 10 minutes after tonight’s game and feature a Disney-themed soundtrack set to Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks.
Tonight is our annual “Match Night” at Great American Ball Park. The Coldwell Banker West Shell Match program is designed to bring youth baseball teams from the suburbs and the inner city together in the spirit of diversity, interaction and friendly competition. Through the support of Coldwell Banker West Shell, the program has expanded to include 16 organizations. As part of tonight’s celebration local youth baseball coach Charles Kelly will receive a Reds “Community Advocate Award” for his contributions to the Match program.
During pregame ceremonies we will honor the St. Xavier High School Aquabombers and present them with a Reds Country Athletic Achievement Award. The Aquabombers won the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s State Swim & Dive Team Title this past February and were named the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association National Champions.
Offering up one of our ceremonial first pitches tonight will be veteran of the US Navy Seal Team Six – Master Chief Paul Tharp. Paul will accept a $5,000 donation on behalf of the US Navy SEAL Foundation from the Jeff Wyler Automotive Family.
