Longtime Reds public safety officer and avid Better Off Red reader Tim Brown is celebrating his last day on the job this afternoon before embarking on a hard-earned retirement. After serving over 26 years as a police officer, Brown began working for the Reds in 2003 – the first year of Great American Ball Park. On behalf of Burt BobbleRed and the rest of us here at BOR, we wish Tim all the best!
Eight rookie pitchers have started at least one game for the Reds this season, tying the modern club record using the 1958 rookie qualifications (1901, 1902, 1907, 1908). Five of those eight started in their Major League debuts (Raisel Iglesias, Michael Lorenzen, Jon Moscot, Josh Smith, John Lamb).
