From my pal @Bongreatness...

As part of Big Blue Night at Great American Ball Park, former University of Kentucky basketball stars Willie Cauley-Stein and Karl-Anthony Towns will offer up simultaneous ceremonial first pitches. Both Cauley-Stein (Sacramento Kings) and Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves) were recently drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft.

During pregame ceremonies we will recognize the Reds Way Employee of the Month for July, Tori Miles. Tori is a Delaware North Company staff member who is currently assigned to duties in The Handlebar.

Happy birthday to the late great Joe Nuxhall, who would’ve been 87 today.

From our friends at Elias Sports Bureau

According to STATS

Tonight’s Pirates starter A.J. Burnett owns a 1.78 ERA this season against NL Central opponents; a mark good for the NL’s third-lowest ERA against pitchers’ own division (min. 5 starts).   Who has the lowest? That would be the Reds’ Anthony DeSclafani, owner of a 1.43 ERA this season against the NL Central.
