FINAL GAME #REDS LINEUP: WHO’S YOUR ‘RED-TO-ROCK?’
From my pal @Bongreatness…
Today is Fan Appreciation Day at Great American Ball Park. All fans entering the ballpark today will be eligible to win prizes that will be awarded throughout the game by the displaying of winning seat locations on the GABP video/ribbon boards. The Fan Appreciation Day redemption/information table will be set up on the Main Stage in the Kroger Fan Zone beginning in the 1st inning and will remain open throughout the game/postgame.
The first 20,000 fans in attendance today will also receive a 2014 Reds Team Photo.
Today we also host the 12th Annual Mascot T-Ball Game. Over 20 area mascots will compete in today’s game, which will be held on the field beginning at Noon. Many of the mascots will stick around to visit with fans throughout today’s game.
Also during pregame ceremonies today the Rosie Reds will present their annual scholarship awards to 9 local collegiate baseball programs. This is part of the Rosie Reds annual contributions to our community.
Offering up a simultaneous first pitch today will be Mrs. Mary Winnefeld (wife of Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) and Robert A. McDonald (Secretary of Veterans Affairs). Handling the catching duties will be Admiral James A. Winnefeld, Jr. (Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) and Mr. Sloan D. Gibson (Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs). This group is in town for the USO Tribute Cincinnati – taking place tonight at Music Hall, featuring the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and benefiting the USO of Metropolitan Washington. Over the past 11 years, this Cincinnati community fundraiser has raised over $5 million dollars for the United Service Organization (USO) of Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro), making this event the largest supporter of USO-Metro outside of Washington D.C. The money raised helps fund critical programs and services that USO-Metro provides to recovering service men and women and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington D.C.
During the middle of the 7th inning break today we will be joined by Smooth Transitions who will lead us in the singing of God Bless America.
Following the conclusion of today’s game we will have the third and final Run the Bases of the 2014 season, open to all fans.
