The Reds Triple-A Louisville Bats have played their final game of the season, but not before retiring Corky Miller’s jersey number “8.”
Here’s video of Corky’s jersey retirement speech, courtesy of the Bats’ YouTube page…
It goes without saying that Corky is wildly popular among Reds, Bats, BOR and all baseball fans. Here’s hoping he remains in the game for a very long time. Congrats to one of baseball’s great ambassadors, Corky Miller!
Mark Sheldon has a nice piece HERE about Billy Hamilton, who’s on pace to steal 60 bases and possibly win the NL Rookie of the Year Award.
And speaking of Hamilton, I’ve got one of his bobbleheads to give away. Are you interested?
In order to win, I’m asking for photos of Reds fans doing their best “Billy Bobble Pose.”
Tweet me (@Jamieblog) a pic of you performing your best Billy Hamilton bobblehead imitation. One lucky winner will be randomly selected this Friday. Cool?
Here’s your motivation…
