SUNDAY’S #REDS LINEUP: WHO’S YOUR ‘RED-TO-ROCK?’

7-27

From my pal @Bongreatness, who demonstrates there is no such thing as “first annual”…

There are three separate giveaways at the gates today: (1) the first 8,000 kids 14 and younger will receive a free Mascot Magnet courtesy of Delta Air Lines (2) the first 5,000 fans will receive an ALS Awareness Day Lou Gehrig baseball card and (3) the first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a Dog Days of Summer Calendar, presented by Iams & Kroger.

During pregame ceremonies today the Reds will salute Donna Jones Baker, the President & CEO of the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, and present her with a Community Advocate Award, celebrating the efforts within our community that enrich our fans’ lives. Donna and the City of Cincinnati hosted the National Urban League Convention this past week.

Today Major League Baseball’s Baseball Tomorrow Fund will award a $5,000 grant to the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League as part of their annual “Equipment Day” event at Great American Ball Park.

For the second consecutive year the Reds and MSA Sport are teaming up to recognize the top high school baseball coaches in the tri-state from this past season. Finalists for the Coach of the Year Award include Jeff Keith (CHCA), Bill Krumpelbeck (CovCath), Bill Dreisbach (Lakota West), Tom Kilgore (Milford) and Troy Roberts (Simon Kenton).

For the third and final day, we will welcome back the Racing Presidents from Washington DC.

During the middle of the 7th inning break today the Reds will welcome Bishop Victor Couzens to lead the crowd in singing of God Bless America.

Following the conclusion of today’s game we will host the inaugural Gospel Day Concert at Great American Ball Park. Performing as part of today’s event will be the opening act by Stellar Award-winning artist Isaac Carree and headlining the show will be Grammy Award-winning artist, Pastor Donnie McClurkin. The concert is expected to begin approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of today’s game.
