#REDS: BRUCE AT FIRST

In preparation for his first professional appearance at first base, Jay Bruce took some grounders at GABP under the supervision of Reds coaches Jay Bell and Freddie Benavides.

Bruce has never played infield in the Majors or Minors.  The last time he played a position other than right field was August 10, 2008, when he started for the Reds in center field.

Here are photos of Jay taking ground balls today at first base…

Where is Joey Votto??!?!?!?!?!

A premier right fielder and you see this great need to put him at first base? The only thing that comes to mind is “DUH”.

Is Joey hurt again?

I find it hard to believe that this is some big issue that needs attention. I’m a big baseball fan and Reds fan and feel that by the time someone has played the amount of game anyone has played to get to this level it shouldn’t be that big of deal. I do understand that different positions do require adjustments on stance timing and such but it’s basic baseball they’ve played since they were in their backyards and streets.

Really!!! Leave him at him at right field he’s probably the best person in the league right now for right field. And anyways where is votto?
