MONDAY’S LINEUP: WHO’S YOUR ‘RED-TO-ROCK?’
From our friends at Elias Sports Bureau…
Tonight, the Reds will welcome Cincinnati Reds Alumni Pitchers, Norm Charlton, Randy Myers and Rob Dibble, better known as the “Nasty Boys”, to throw out simultaneous ceremonial first pitches before tonight’s game. During the 1990 season these gentlemen combined for 44 saves and 351 strikeouts. And during the World Series that year, the trio pitched a combined 8 2⁄3 innings without an earned run – helping lead the franchise to its fifth World Championship.
Additionally, the Reds Community Fund is hosting members of the Cincinnati R.B.I. leagues at the ballpark. Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities is a Major League Baseball youth outreach program designed to increase participation and interest in baseball and softball among underserved youth while promoting greater inclusion of minorities into the mainstream of the game.
