From my pal @Bongreatness….

Tonight is the 5th Fireworks Friday of the 2014 season, presented by Koorsen Fire & Security. The 15-minute fireworks show, set to a “History of Hip Hop” soundtrack and featuring Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks, will begin approximately 10 minutes after the conclusion of tonight’s game.

Tonight marks the start of the 42nd annual GE Weekend with the Cincinnati Reds. Over 15,000 GE employees, family members & friends of the company are expected to attend the ballpark over the course of this weekend’s series.

Offering up one of our ceremonial first pitches tonight will be actor, producer and director Don Cheadle, who is in Cincinnati preparing to film “Miles Ahead” (a movie about jazz musician Miles Davis).

Serving as tonight’s Honorary Captain will be Reds Hall of Famer Jim O’Toole. A limited edition bobblehead featuring Jim’s likeness is being distributed free with paid regular-price admission to the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum this weekend. Jim will also appear in the HOF tonight, to sign autographs from 4:30-6PM.

Before tonight’s performance of our National Anthem by the Cincinnati Pops Wind Quartet, we will pause for a Moment of Remembrance as our Nation honors the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
