THURSDAY’S LINEUP: WHO’S YOUR ‘RED-TO-ROCK?’

6-5

From my pal @Bongreatness

During pregame ceremonies today we will honor the 2014 winner of the Harvey Haddix Award – Matt Bogan of Mechanicsburg High School. The award has been given out annual since 1994 by the Urbana Daily Citizen to honor Champaign County, Ohio, native Harvey Haddix, who is one of only two pitchers in Reds history to receive the Rawlings Gold Glove Award (Bronson Arroyo). Bogan will receive his award from Reds broadcaster Chris Welsh, and also offer up a ceremonial first pitch.

Also during pregame ceremonies today we will welcome French chef Jean-Robert De Cavel, who is celebrating his 20th year bringing culinary delight to the Cincinnati area. Jean-Robert will also offer up a ceremonial first pitch today.

Thought I would pass along a cool thing that COO Phil Castellini did Tuesday night. Mesoraco came off the field after a strike out and pointed to a kid (about 10 years old) to toss him the ball. An over-zealous 25-30 year old pushed him aside and grabbed the ball. We, of course, booed the fan… Phil saw it happen and grabbed another ball from the dugout and came up between the innings and handed the kid a ball. Class act by Phil.

Keep up the great work!
