“The Johnny C” Show continues to set ratings records in Cincinnati.

Highlights from Johnny’s most recent monologue:

  • In game one of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Padres, collected his third complete game of the season (9ip, 3h, no runs, 2bb, 8k).
  • Was his ninth career complete game and his second complete game shutout of the season.
  • Fourth career complete game shutout.
  • Is the first Major League pitcher to begin the season with at least 7.0 innings in each of his first 9 starts while allowing 2 runs or fewer since Harry Krause of the Philadelphia Athletics did it in 10 straight starts from 5/8-7/11, 1909.  (editor’s note: 1909, he said)
  • Has allowed just 5 runs over his last 55.0 innings pitched.
  • Has pitched at least 8.0 innings in his last six consecutive starts.
  • Has allowed five hits or less in all nine of his starts.
  • Today marked his first appearance of not allowing an extra-base hit.
