TUESDAY MORNING #REDS PHOTOS FROM GOODYEAR

It’s still fairly quiet at the Reds Player Development complex in Goodyear.  However, several of the pitchers are already here getting in early work.  They include Sam LeCure, Logan Ondrusek, JJ Hoover, Pedro Villarreal, Jeff Francis, Mat Latos, Chad Rogers, Lee Hyde and Michael Lorenzen.

Better Off Red favorite, Tucker Barnhart has been busy catching a lot of bullpen sessions.

If you’re not familiar with Rogers, he’s a rising star in the Reds system who had to delay his professional debut in 2010 after he was bitten by a shark while surfing off the Gulf Coast.  The injury required 60 stitches.

Lorenzen was the Reds Competitive Lottery Round A Pick (38th overall) in 2013.  An incredible athlete, Lorenzen pitched and played outfield for Cal State-Fullerton.  He appeared at 4 different minor league levels last year, his first professional season.

Hyde, a lefty, posted a 1.98 ERA in 53 relief appearances last year at Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Louisville.  He didn’t allow a run over 39 consecutive appearances (38.2ip) last year.  It was the longest scoreless streak by any minor league reliever in 2013.

Here are some photos from this morning (click on the photos for player identification)…

Baseball is back!!!

Maybe the farm is better off than we’re hearing? Great to see Cingrani and Latos out early!!! Hopefully Tucker gets a real shot at the bigs sometime soon, just not at Mez or Pena’s demise.
