TUESDAY’S BASELINE ITEMS
In case you missed the final out last night of Bronson Arroyo‘s complete-game shutout, check out the video below…
Last night’s victory for Arroyo was his 100th as a Red. Pretty nice way to get it, huh?
Here’s what Elias said about it…
We’ll post the lineups for tonight’s doubleheader when we get ’em.
It’s going to be weird seeing the Reds wear their home whites all the way in San Francisco. Long-time Reds clubhouse man Rick Stowe told me it’s the first time he’s ever had to pack the home jerseys for a road trip.
For more on tonight’s unusual double-dip, Rob Butcher sends this…
Tonight’s traditional doubleheader was scheduled following a rainout on 7/4 at Cin’s Great American Ball Park…the Giants will bat last in Game 1 and the Reds will bat last in Game 2, persuant to Rule 413(f), which states, “When a rescheduled game is part of a doubleheader the rescheduled game shall be the second game, and the first game shall be the regularly scheduled game for that date”…statistically, the Giants are the home team for both games per Rule 2.00, which states in part, “The HOME TEAM is the team on whose grounds the game is played...”…Cin will finish the season with 82 road games and SF with 82 home games…the one attendance for both games will be credited to the Giants.
More in a bit.
Expect good news!
