This afternoon’s game between the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants at Great American Ball Park is scheduled to begin on time at 1:10 p.m. ET.

“We recognize today’s forecast indicates the potential for rain throughout our region, but there also appears to be a chance we can get the game in,” said Reds Chief Operating Officer Phil Castellini. “We could see a rain delay but we are going to do everything we can to play ball, in part because of the absence of an equitable common day off between the two teams the rest of the regular season.”

I was discussing a makeup date on Momday when we had rain then with some Access Coordinators I am friends with and we saw that Aug. 29 was a off day for both teams. After looking again after reading your post I guess August 29 wouldn’t work since both the Reds and Giants both have an off day (travel probably) but in the middle of road trips (Reds go from STL to COL and the Giants from COL to ARI). Coming home to play a makeup game would be a nightmare logistically speaking.
