LutzHomerThe Reds completed a 3-game weekend sweep of the Brewers on Sunday afternoon, defeating Milwaukee, 5-1.

Bronson Arroyo was fantastic in his 6.2 shutout innings, scattering 5 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.  He snapped the Reds streak of 9 straight games without a quality start.

Donald Lutz and Xavier Paul both homered for the Reds.  For Lutz, it was his first Major League homer and it also extended his hitting streak to 6 games.  Paul’s homer was of the pinch-hit variety –  his second such of the season.

With this afternoon’s victory, the Reds improve to a season-high 6 games over .500 (22-16) and are 10-2 over their last 12 games against the Brewers.

Dusty Baker is now in sole possession of 17th place on the all-time managerial wins list with 1,603.  He passed Hall of Famer Fred Clarke today.

The Reds are idle on Monday.  They’ll begin a 9-game road trip on Tuesday in Miami.

While the team is on the road, Better Off Red Headquarters is preparing for its first #VoteReds Lunch of the season on Twitter.  Stay tuned for details.
