One of the most exciting 9th innings in the history of Great American Ball Park….REDS WIN!

Braves closer Craig Kimbrel took over on the mound for the Braves in the ninth and struck out Jack Hannahan and Corky Miller.  He was one strike away from fanning pinch-hitter Devin Mesoraco, but Mesoraco launched a 3-2 pitch into the stands for his first career pinch-hit homer.  The next batter, Shin-Soo Choo gave Kimbrel’s 2-1 pitch a ride over the wall to win it.  It was Mr. Choo’s second homer of the game.

Tonight’s victory marked the 1,600th for Dusty Baker as a Major League manager.  He passes Tommy Lasorda for 18th on the all-time managerial wins list.
