From my pal @Bongreatness

Today is the first Bark in the Park game of the 2013 season, presented by Iams & Kroger. We are expecting over 600 dogs in attendance tonight in the predetermined dog sections of the ballpark which are down the first base line. Prior to the game the dogs and their owners will participate in a series of activities include games in the Fan Zone and a pregame parade around the warning track (*weather permitting). Tonight’s pregame events will also include a traditional first pitch by our event sponsors as well as a “First Fetch” by one of the dogs in attendance.

Please note that due to the Bark in the Park event tonight, there will be no “boomer” fireworks for tonight’s game (the ones shot off outside the ballpark). We will still have fireworks and pyrotechnics from the PNC Power Stacks in centerfield.

As part of our Give Back Day involving the Hearing, Speech & Deaf Center of Cincinnati, a sign language interpreter will be shown on the videoboard during select events and promotions taking place during pregame ceremonies tonight, including the National Anthem.

Please note that prior to singing our National Anthem tonight we will observe a Moment of Silence for the victims of the tragedy at yesterday’s Boston Marathon. Today’s Moment of Silence is being observed league-wide at the request of the Commissioner’s Office.

Delivering tonight’s Game Ball will be members of Brian Wilson’s family, the former Reds Scout who passed away in 2006. Earlier today the Reds Community Fund, in conjunction with Reds rightfielder Jay Bruce, will have officially celebrate the opening of “Brian Wilson Field” at the Batavia Township Community Center in Clermont County. Members of Brian’s family who will be joining us tonight include his wife Prairie, their daughters Carson, Conor & Curry, and Prairie’s mother Connie Jo.
