Today’s tilt vs. the Angels marks the 20,000th game in Cincinnati Reds franchise history, dating back to that unforgettable 1882 Cincinnati Red Stockings club.

Of those previous 19,999 games, Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman has called 17,405 of them.  Marty, of course missed time in the late 1800s while battling Yellow Fever.

Prior to this afternoon’s game, I did some digging through the archives of the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum and found Marty’s first headshot as a Reds employee.  Take a look…

I thinketh that I liketh Ye Olde Breannaman of Marty! Happy 20,000the game to my favorite organization in all of baseball, and here’s to another 20,000 more! As always, GO REDS!!!!
