HOT STOVE: Wednesday night’s Hot Stove League radio show will be broadcast from the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum at 6:00 p.m….to be hosted by Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman and partner Jim Kelch, it can be heard live on 700 WLW Radio, via the internet at reds.com/hotstove and on the Reds On Radio Network…Wednesday’s special guests will include Reds manager Dusty Baker, All-Star outfielder Jay Bruce and veteran catcher Corky Miller.

REDS CARAVAN SENDOFF: Media are invited to attend the annual kickoff event for the Reds Caravan on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum…all members of the caravan, along with manager Dusty Baker, will attend that event…immediately following that sendoff ceremony, all 3 motor coaches will depart from in front of the HOF…from Thursday through Sunday, the Reds Caravan presented by Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network will make 15 fan stops (37 stops overall) covering more than 2,800 miles over 4 states.

Don’t forget, if you plan on attending any of the public stops during this week’s 2013 Reds Caravan event, bring your best homemade sign supporting your favorite leg of the tour (North, South, West).  There’s a very good chance you and your sign will be featured right here on Better Off Red!

1967: Seven days after the first Super Bowl, played between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs, the Reds hire Bob Howsam to a three-year contract as vice-president and general manager.

1921: The Reds trade Jimmy Ring and Greasy Neale to the Phillies for pitcher Eppa Rixey.

Just want to petition for All-Star game tickets (in case my brother and/or parents don’t come through for me). Also, not that Crosley Terrace isn’t that impressive, but this is some real construction going on up the hill in Avondale: http://10.19.104.92:8080/webcam.html
