THE UMPTEEN DAYS OF CHRISTMAS: DAY FIVE
As promised, the Better Off Red elves are giving you a chance to win some very cool Reds-related gifts as a “thank you” for your support in 2012! It’s a little something we like to call “The Umpteen Days of Christmas.”
Every day through Friday, December 21st, you’ll have the opportunity to win a top-of-the-line prize. Here’s how…
This year, Reds staffer Nick St. Pierre (and at times, others) has filmed reenactments from some of my personal favorite holiday classics. In order for you to win the daily prize, you have to submit the next line of the scene in the comments section of that day’s post.
- For example, if you see Nick reenacting the scene from It’s a Wonderful Life in which Zuzu Bailey says, “Every time a bell rings,” your response should be: “An angel gets his wings.”
Day Five’s prizes are an autographed 8×10 of Sam LeCure and a game-used baseball from Game Four of the 2012 NLDS between the Reds and Giants in which LeCure pitched to Tim Lincecum. (courtesy of Reds Authentics)
And here’s Nick with Reds staffers John “Rat” Rieder and Kory Hetzer reenacting a scene from It’s a Wonderful Life…
Finish the scene by leaving the next line in the comments section below.
You’ll notice I’ve made the actual comments in the comments section invisible to you and other readers. This is to cut down on “cheating.” Once you submit your comment, it will be automatically emailed to me, where only I’ll be able read your answer. I’ll put all the correct answers in a pile from which I’ll choose one random winner, daily. If you win, I’ll contact you via email.
And remember – no matter what holiday you celebrate this time of the year, Better Off Red celebrates it, too. Thus, all of you are encouraged to participate!
Congratulations to Day Four’s randomly selected winner, Hannah Buskirk, who correctly responded with “Going for a new amateur recreational saucer-sled land-speed record, Clark W. Griswold Junior!” Hannah wins the Redlegs Run 5K registration!
We’ll announce Day Five’s winner tomorrow. Good luck!
And speaking of Sam LeCure and tomorrow, the Reds’ righthander will be appearing at the Holy Grail Tuesday night at 6pm ET for the live broadcast of the Hot Stove League radio show. You’re all encouraged to attend!
