GAME FOUR #REDS NOTES
From my pal @Bongreatness…
Gates to the ballpark open today at 2:07PM for all fans. However if the crowd outside the gates dictates it, that time may be adjusted in accordance with Cincinnati Fire Code.
All fans attending today’s game will receive a free Reds Rally Towel, courtesy of Cincinnati Bell, Horseshoe Casino, Kroger, Homemade Brand Ice Cream and P&G.
During pregame ceremonies today we will recognize Reds pitcher Homer Bailey for the no-hitter he threw on September 28th in Pittsburgh, which was the 15th no-hitter in franchise history. Homer, as well as his battery-mate for the game Ryan Hanigan, will receive a custom, elegantly framed photo collage commemorating the game. (If starting today’s game, Hanigan will receive his gift in private prior to the game.)
Today’s ceremonial first pitch will be throw out by Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman. Brennaman, who receive the Ford C. Frick award from the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000, has helped raise over $1.8 million dollars for the Reds Community Fund since 2002 through his annual Marty Brennaman Golf Classic. Earlier this season during the “Shave Marty” event, the RCF raised $100,000.
Marty also helped raise awareness for the Dragonfly Foundation, a Cincinnati-based charity that assists cancer patient children and their families, as part of the “Shave Marty” event. And as part of today’s pregame activities the Dragonfly Foundation will provide our Game Ball Delivers, Kila & Charlie Tripp. Kila is a sophomore at Ursuline Academy who is battling leukemia and her brother Charlie is an honors student at Mariemont High School and will assist her in today’s activity.
Cincinnati quartet The Mistics will sing our National Anthem. (We do NOT expect to have a flyover today.)
During the middle of the 7th inning break today Cincinnati Firefighter John Winfrey will lead the crowd in singing God Bless America.
