Today the Reds recalled from Louisville C Devin Mesoraco…the Reds’ bullpen leads the National League in ERA (2.75) and averages 9.97 strikeouts per 9 innings, which according to Elias Sports Bureau would be the second-highest season average for a relief staff in Major League history (2010 Braves, 10.06)…before rosters expanded the Reds used 33 players this season, the fewest in the Major Leagues…Dusty Baker’s career record in September/October is 264-215 (.551)…on 9/18 at Wrigley Field, Baker is scheduled to manage his 3,000th game…his career record includes a 3-3 tie in 10 innings for SF at Atl on 8/15/02.
