The Reds tonight defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-0.

Johnny Cueto started for the Reds and pitched 6.0 shutout innings, allowing just 4 hits and 4 walks while striking out 3.  His record improves to 11-5.  Aroldis Chapman struck out the only batter he faced for his 14th save.

The Reds plated 4 runs on 5 hits.  Ryan Ludwick belted a 3-run homer in the 3rd – his 14th.

Game 3 of the 4-game series with the D’Backs continues Wednesday as Mat Latos opposes RHP Ian Kennedy.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:10pm ET.  Plenty of seats are still available but they’re going fast (Jay Bruce Bobblehead Night!).

From our friends at Elias Sports Bureau:  The Reds started nine right-handed hitters against right-handed pitcher Trevor Bauer Tuesday night. According to Elias, it’s the first time since April 22, 2005, that any team started nine right-handed hitters against a right-handed pitcher. The Astros started nine righties against the Cardinals’ Jason Marquis in that game. Regardless of the handedness of the pitcher, it’s the first time the Reds have started nine righties, none of whom were switch-hitters, since May 8, 2001, a game in which Randy Johnson struck out 20 hitters.
