#REDS WIN A THRILLER! ARROYO SHINES
Bronson Arroyo held the Brewers without a hit through 7.1 innings Tuesday night and Jay Bruce and Drew Stubbs each belted clutch home runs as the Reds defeated Milwaukee, 4-3.
32,986 fans at Great American Ball Park gave Arroyo a standing ovation after Milwaukee’s Taylor Green broke up the no-no in the 8th inning. In a matter of a few pitches, Arroyo went from a potential no-hitter to a certain no-decision. The Brewers plated 3 runs off Arroyo in the 8th and Reds manager Dusty Baker was forced to bring Sean Marshall in to get the final out of the inning.
Drew Stubbs led off the bottom of the 8th with a first-pitch home run off John Axford to give the Reds the lead for good.
Aroldis Chapman closed it out in for his 9th save.
The Reds go for the 3-game sweep Wednesday afternoon as Homer Bailey opposes Zack Greinke. First pitch is scheduled for 12:35.
