#REDS WIN! LATOS GOES THE DISTANCE
Mat Latos fired his second career complete game, leading the Reds to a 3-1 victory over the Brewers Monday night at Great American Ball Park. Mat gave up just 1 run on 4 hits with 2 walks and a career high 13 strikeouts. Tonight’s victory extended his winning streak to 6 games, matching his career high set in 2010. And while we’re talking about Latos and career highs, he went 2-for-3 at the dish – his third career 2-hit game.
The Reds scored 3 runs on 7 hits. Jay Bruce (1-for-4) hit a 2-run double. Drew Stubbs, in his first game back from the DL, went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and 2 runs scored. Brandon Phillips ripped an RBI-double.
The Phillies beat the Pirates, so the Reds extend their lead in the National League Central to 2.0 games.
Game two of the series vs. Milwaukee continues Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park. Plenty of seats still available.
