REDS FALL TO THE ANGELS IN TEMPE, 3-1
Johnny Cueto gave up 2 runs (1er) on 4 hits and 1 walk while Denis Phipps ripped 2 doubles, but the Reds fell to the Angels this afternoon in Tempe, 3-1. CJ Wilson started for LA and was solid in his 4.0 innings (3h, 1r, 2k). Cincinnati was held to 4 hits.
–It was weird seeing Albert Pujols in an Angels uniform.
–Between innings, I was watching the score of the Syracuse/UNC-Asheville and pulling hard for the upset.
–The pressbox at Tempe Diablo Stadium was a bit warm and a lot packed. Eight windows, one of which was open. It was reminiscent of the Riverfront Stadium pressbox where windows couldn’t open.
–I ran into someone you folks in Cincinnati may remember – Paul Horton. Horton was a weather man for FOX 19 a few years ago. He’s now on TV here in the Phoenix area and was at the game today helping out the public address announcer.
–There were lots of folks wearing red at the game. I can only assume they were all Reds fans.
…..
Now, ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for me to attend an R&R Conference somewhere that has a few high-definition televisions and cold beverages.
Thanks so much for your continued support of Better Off Red and the Cincinnati Reds. I appreciate it very much. You all are Fonzies because you’re soooooooo cooooooool!
Expect good news,
Jamie
