TODAY’S NEWS: The Reds today signed Moeller High School graduate RHP Andrew Brackman to a 1-year contract through the 2012 season…Brackman was the New York Yankees’ No. 1 pick (30th overall) of the June 2007 first-year player draft…he was born in and grew up in Cincinnati, where he was a baseball and basketball star at Moeller…his bio and head shot are attached.
GOOD LUCK, BARRY….: The National Baseball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2012 will be announced Monday at 3:00 p.m. ET live on MLB Network…MLB Network’s Hall of Fame special begins at 2:00…if Reds Hall of Famer and 12-time National League All-Star shortstop Barry Larkin is elected, he will participate in a conference call with local media later that evening and will attend a press conference at Great American Ball Park the afternoon of Wednesday, January 11…more information on both local media availability events will be announced if Larkin is elected…the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown is scheduled for Sunday, July 22.
