UMPTEEN DAYS OF CHRISTMAS – DAY ONE

For the next “umpteen” days, I’ll be giving away some really cool Reds-related stuff here on Better Off Red.  Several Reds departments within the front office have graciously donated these prizes as a “thank you” for your support.

Our stalwart of Reds mascots, Nick St. Pierre, has donated his time to bring any one of the Reds mascots to your holiday party this year.  Gapper, Rosie, Mr. Redlegs and even the prodigal son Mr. Red are eligible to spend a free hour at your gathering this month.  No charge.  Whether you’re hosting a company party, a school party or a civilized house party – any one of these mascots will surely be a hit.  Obviously, the party would have to take place in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Interested?  In the comments section below, please tell me why you’d love to have a Reds mascot at your fiesta.  Include what kind of party it’ll be (school, company, misc.), the date and location.

I’ll choose a winner tonight!

My son Caden is in pre school and loves his reds… His teacher is one of the best ever and it would be a great suprise for all of them.. These kids are young and full of energy and would be a joy to be around…

This is fantastic. You know my son and his 1st grade classmates would love a visit from former Hollywood icon Mr. Red. Their school party is on the 21st.

That said, if Mr. Red thinks he’s too cool for school and wants to party with some YP’s, there’s also an event the evening of the 23rd in Hyde Park (tacky Christmas/toy drive for Children’s Hospital).

Heck, I will throw a party at our house and invite my biggest Reds fan friends (including all of you awesome BOR readers) if we can get Mr. Redlegs or Mr. Red to show up.

Congrats to the winner, and big thanks to Nick for his generosity.

It’s not exactly a party. My church is doing a dinner and Santa’s workshop the Wednesday before Christmas, December 21st. It is at Madison Avenue Christian Church, 1530 Madison Avenue Covington KY. It is a free dinner for the homeless and less fortunate in our area. Also, being the last dinner we do before Christmas, we are doing a Santa’s Workshop where Santa will be there to give toys to some kids that may not get anything else this Christmas. I’ve been serving at these dinners since they started 10 years ago, and it is such an awesome, rewarding experience. Even if I don’t win this thing, if anyone wants to do some volunteer work this holiday season, just show up! We can always use extra help. Dinner starts at 6:00!

This is such a cute idea!!! I totally wish I was throwing a party!!! If I get picked I will design a party around the mascot!!!!

Sorry forgot the date 12/15/11 @ 10:00 am.. Lincoln elementary..

My son Nolan is turning 4 on Sunday, December 18th. We’re having a kids birthday party for him and his friends @ the Boonshoft Museum Of Discovery (children’s museum) in Dayton from 12 PM to 1:30 PM. Nolan loves the mascots, especially Gapper. He gets really excited every time he sees them. Nolan had his picture taken with the mascots at his very first Reds game in July 2010. I’m sure that Nolan’s friends would love to see one of the Reds mascots. Thanks Jamie!

Every year the company I work for has a Christmas party for the children who live at the Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home in Northern Kentucky. A friend and I have been the chief organizers of the event for the past 15 years or so. It’s a fun party with food, face painting, crafts, pictures with Santa and of course presents. Unfortunately that party was two nights ago. HOWEVER, there is another party for the families in the Foster Care program on Tuesday night next week, Dec 13th at 6:30. I know the resident kids love the Reds – the kids made picture frames for their pictures with Santa and the Reds stickers/logos were the hottest item on the craft table. I’m sure the foster care kids love our Reds just as much and would be thrilled to have a guy in a Reds suit to go with the guy in the big red suit at their party!

This is a wonderful gift. I would love to see pictures of the winner with the mascot at their event if possible. Thank you

What a great contest, too bad I live a 100 miles north. Don’t think I’d have much of a chance though, looks like you have some great entries. Good luck with choosing a winner!

I would definitely be the coolest Mom at school if I got Gapper to come to my kids Christmas party Everyone at school already knows that my son Nick is the biggest Reds fan. It would be great to have Gapper come to St. Michael School in Sharonville and visit Nick’s 7th grade class. His sister Katie would also like Gapper to stop by her 5th grade classroom and whistle a Merry Christmas to all. Nick might even get an excused absence for Opening Day if Gapper came to school!

I forgot to add a date to mine. Their party is on Dec. 21st but Gapper is welcome on any school day!

My oldest daughter is a HUGE Gapper fan. However, their relationship didn’t start out that way. She openly expressed her disdain of Gapper in a very public forum. After meeting the Almighty Red Furry One in person, I believe I can say that Gapper won her over. I think it would be a very special surprise if Gapper would pop into her work Christmas party on December 26th. Since she’s single, Gapper would be the perfect date to whistle sweet whistles in her ear. She works at a bar/restaurant in Hyde Park Square. The bar is closed that day to host the party for the employees of all three locations. My daughter is a daily reader of your blog, so I’m hoping that since she’s working a double shift today, she misses my entry into your giveaway!

Halellaujh! I needed this-you’re my savior.

The paragon of undertsainndg these issues is right here!
