NOVEMBER 9, 1977: George Foster is named National League Most Valuable Player.
“Foster received 15 of the 24 first place votes cast. He led the league with 52 homers, 149 RBIs, 124 runs scored, a 1013 OPS, and 388 total bases. The RBI and total base marks were also club records, as were the 31 homers he hit on the road.”
NOVEMBER 9, 1973: The Reds trade Bobby Tolan and Dave Tomlin to the Padres for Clay Kirby.
