CINCINNATI (October 26, 2011) — The Reds Community Fund is looking for a community baseball or softball field renovation project for 2012.

If your local youth baseball or softball home field could use a professional overhaul, complete an application today for the Reds “Home Field Makeover.”

Applications are available online at  www.reds.com/community and are being accepted through December 31, 2011.

The winning field makeover project may include but is not limited to:
– Infield and outfield restoration
– Field grading and leveling
– New fencing and backstop
– New infield dirt
– Grass seeding
– Project work such as painting, landscaping and other minor repairs

The project will also include support from Reds field vendors, a visit by members of the Reds grounds crew and other amenities. The field must be located in Ohio, Indiana or Kentucky. The makeover recipient will be announced during the Reds Winter Caravan in January.

2012 is the second year for the Home Field Makeover. In 2011, Pioneer Park in Kenton County, KY was selected as the winner of the inaugural Home Field Makeover.

Since 2006, the Reds Community Fund has helped renovate over 300 fields across Reds Country.
