MIGUEL CAIRO: HEART AND HUSTLE AWARD WINNER
MLBPAA Honors Miguel Cairo with Reds Heart and Hustle Award
One player from each MLB team wins respected honor voted on by Alumni players
WHO: Cincinnati Reds utility man Miguel Cairo winner of Heart and Hustle Award. Award being presented by Alumni Major Leaguer Billy Hatcher, a left and center fielder for the Reds from 1990-1992 whose hitting prowess helped the Reds sweep the Oakland A’s to win the World Series in 1990. Following his career, Hatcher went on to coach the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and is currently the first base coach for the Reds.
WHAT: The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) is pleased to announce the 30 preliminary winners of the 2011 Heart and Hustle Award. This esteemed award honors active players who demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit, and tradition of the game.
