BASELINE ITEMS – TRIVIA FOR A SHIRT
Yesterday I joined my ol’ pals from Reds Fantasy Camp on the field at GABP for the annual reunion game. I didn’t play but I did “help” Reds PA man Joe Zerhusen and former Red Doug Flynn on commentary.
It appeared that everyone had a wonderful time, especially when the clouds went away and the sun came out.
It was great not only catching up with my former teammates from the underachieving “Oceans 13” team but it was equally as fun seeing some of the salt-of-the-earth fellas I met during “Baseball Heaven.”
If you’re thinking about signing up for 2012 Reds Fantasy Camp, I CANNOT recommend it enough. You will NOT regret it. Go to reds.com/fantasycamp and sign up today!
Here are some photos from yesterday’s reunion game (courtesy of my colleague Michael Anderson)…

Reds Sign First-Round Draft Pick
High School RHP Robert Stephenson Agrees To Deal For 2012
22nd-Round LHP Amir Garrett Signs Dual-Sport Contract
CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Reds Senior Director of Amateur Scouting Chris Buckley last night announced the team has agreed to terms on a 2012 contract with 2011 first-round draft pick RHP Robert Stephenson (6-2, 190).
With the 27th pick overall, the Reds drafted Stephenson out of Alhambra High School in Martinez, California.
Stephenson, 18, in 13 regular season appearances for Alhambra went 7-2 with a 1.33 ERA, 132 strikeouts and just 23 walks and 29 hits allowed in 64.0 innings. He was named the San Jose Mercury News’ Gatorade California Baseball Player of the Year and was rated by Baseball America as the 25th-best prospect in the 2011 first-year player draft.
Stephenson began this season with back-to-back no-hitters and touched 98 on the radar gun.
Also Monday, the Reds agreed to terms on a dual-sport contract with LHP Amir Garrett (6-5, 210), 19, selected in the 22nd round out of Findlay College Prep in Henderson, Nevada.
An All-American basketball player and ranked the 68th-best player in last year’s recruiting class, Garrett also intends to play basketball at St. John’s University.
I’m pretty excited about tomorrow’s My Morning Jacket show at PNC Pavillion!
Are you going? If so, find me and say hello.
Ok, how about a little “Trivia for a Shirt?”
We’re going to mix it up a little this week. Rather than leaving your answer in the “comments” section, I’m only going to accept it via Twitter.
You can follow me on Twitter at “Jamieblog” or by simply clicking on the “Follow” button in the upper right-hand corner of this page.
I’ll select one winner tomorrow at random, and that lucky ducky will receive a brand new, limited edition Better Off Red t-shirt and a pair of Magic Red Shoelaces.
Who was the last Red to drive in 10 runs in a game?
Enjoy the game tonight. I’m working on putting together a long-overdue Watch Party for this weekend, so stay tuned!
Thanks so much for logging on and supporting the team. There’s nothing like loyalty, and the Reds are very lucky to have that from great fans like you. Thanks!
Expect good news,
