MALONEY SETS LOUISVILLE RECORD
LHP Matt Maloney, who is currently on the Reds disabled list with a broken rib, made a rehab appearance last night for Louisville and notched his 35th career victory as a Bat, setting a new franchise record.
RICHBURG HOMERS TWICE
1b Chris Richburg (Bakersfield) yesterday at Stockton belted two home runs and has hit four homers in four days…he’s currently riding a 12-game hitting streak (17-for-46) to raise his batting average 20 points.
CHARLOTTE (WSOX) 2, LOUISVILLE 3: The Bats were victimized by a perfect game through 7 innings but scored 3 runs in the bottom of the ninth to win…LHP Matt Maloney (rehabbing broken rib) pitched 4.0 innings of relief to notch his 35th career win for Louisiville, a new franchise record (2h, 1r, 0bb, 3k, 1hr, 55TP/36K)…LHP Travis Wood started and gave up an unearned run in 5.0 innings (3h, 1bb, 9k)…DH Danny Dorn (1-for-4) ripped a 2-out, 2-run double in the 9th to win it.

BAKERSFIELD 7, STOCKTON (A’S) 6: The Blaze have won 9 straight…3b Alex Buchholz went 4-for-5 with 2 RBI…3b Chris Richburg belted his 4th homer in 4 games…this one made the sprinklers go off at a local department store…2b Brodie Greene (2-for-5, 2r) blasted a grand slam that ironically landed on the roof of a local Denny’s…SS Didi Gregorius had 3 hits and 2 runs scored…RHP Josh Ravin started for Bakersfield and allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 6.0 innings (3bb, 1k, 1hr)…LHP Andrew Bowman (3-2) earned the win in relief (2ip, 3h, 0r, 1bb, 4k).
BURLINGTON (A’S) 1, DAYTON 7: The Dragons have won 7 straight…RHP Brian Pearl started in place of RHP Josh Smith because of a rain delay…Pearl allowed a run in 3.0 innings (2h, 1bb, 4k, 1hr)…RHP Chad Rogers (4-4) fired 4.0 scoreless innings of relief to notch the victory…Dayton plated 7 runs on 13 hits…2b Ronald Torreyes went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored…SS Billy Hamilton had a hit, a run scored and a stolen base (#74).
