PLAYERS OF THE MONTH
The Reds yesterday announced that Henry Rodriguez (Bakersfield) and Daniel Corcino (Dayton) are the organization’s player and pitcher of the month, respectively, for May…in 29 games, Rodriguez batted .336 with 5 home runs, 21 RBI and a .529 slugging pct…Corcino went 3-1 in 5 starts with a 2.19 ERA (24.2ip, 6er, 6bb, 32k)…both players will receive $10 in arcade tokens and a chocolate cake baked by Reds VP/assistant GM Bob Miller.
YONDER MOUNTAIN HIT MAN
LF Yonder Alonso (Louisville) is working on a current 9-game hitting streak (17-for-38, .447, 2hr, 11rbi)…in 53 games overall this season, Alonso is batting .324 with 7 HR and 34 RBI (.381obp, .519slg).

FIRST YEAR PLAYER DRAFT
The 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft begins this evening and concludes Wednesday…the Redlegs will choose 27th, their lowest first-round pick ever and their lowest pick overall since RHP Brett Tomko was taken with the 54th pick in the second round in 1995…Cincinnati also will pick 84th, 114th and 145th…first-round draft pick information is on Page 195 of the Reds’ media guide…the player draft will be broadcast live at 7:00 p.m. ET on MLB Network and MLB.com
