3b Stephen Hunt (Bakersfield) yesterday vs Modesto went 1-for-4 with a with a 2-run homer (#4) to extend his hitting streak to 20 games (35-for-78, .449)…it’s the longest hitting streak of the season in the California League.  

LF/1b Yonder Alonso (Louisville) yesterday vs Buffalo extended his hitting steak to 11 games (19-for-49, .388).


BUFFALO (METS) 4, LOUISVILLE 3: RHP Chad Reineke (4-2) started for Louisville and allowed 3 runs (1er) on 8 hits in 6.0 innings (1bb, 5k)…the Bats managed 1 run on 6 hits…3b Juan Francisco (rehabbing strained left calf) paced the offense with 2 hits.

CAROLINA 1, MOBILE (D’BACKS) 6: RHP Kyle McCulloch started for Carolina and fired 4.0 scoreless innings (4h, 0bb, 3k)…LHP Lee Tabor (0-2) was reached for 5 runs in an inning of relief to suffer the loss…the Mudcats pushed across a run on 3 hits…C James Skelton went 1-for-3 with an RBI-double.

MODESTO (ROCKIES) 4, BAKERSFIELD 7: RHP Curtis Partch (2-4) started for Bakersfield and allowed 4 runs (3er) on 7 hits in 6.2 innings (2bb, 7k)…RHP Scott Gaffney pitched a perfect 9th inning for his second save…the Blaze rang the bell 7 times on 5 hits…RF Stephen Hunt blasted a 2-run homer that landed in the Kern County Fairgrounds, damaging a cotton candy machine…3b Alex Buchholz (3rbi) also homered, but his simply just went over the fence.

DAYTON DRAGONS: The Dragons were off yesterday celebrating actress Debra Winger’s 56th birthday…in honor of the event, Dayton manager Delino DeShields hosted the entire Dragons organization at his home for a double-feature screening of Urban Cowboy and An Officer and a Gentleman.
