REDS MINOR LEAGUE NEWS

REHABBING REDS: Disabled RHP Johnny Cueto (irritation in his right biceps/triceps) is 3 starts into a rehab appearance for Class AAA Louisville (0-2, 8.38, 9.2ip, 14h, 10r, 9er, 4bb, 7k, 1hr, 1wp), including last night’s no-decision in an 8-1 Bats win vs Durham (4.2ip, 3h, 0r, 0bb, 3k, 83 pitches, 55 strikes)…RHP Homer Bailey (right shoulder impingement) on Sun at Toledo made his second rehab start for Louisville and earned the 9-0 Bats win (5.1ip, 3h, 0r, 1bb, 6k, 72 pitches, 48 strikes)…he is 1-0, 0.00 in his 2 rehab apps (10.1ip, 6h, 0r, 2bb, 8k, .167oba)…Bailey tentatively is scheduled to pitch again for the Bats Sat vs Norfolk (6:05et)…RHP Jose Arredondo (February 2010 right elbow surgery) made 6 apps during a rehabilitation assignment at Class AA Carolina (1-0, 2.35, 7.2ip, 4h, 2er, 4bb, 11k)…he has been transfered to Louisville and is scheduled to pitch again tonight vs Durham…OF Fred Lewis (strained right oblique) is 9g into a rehab assignment, including 7g at Carolina (.261, 6-23, 3 2b, 1rbi, 4bb, 4k, 1sb) and 2g at Louisville (.500, 4-8, 1 2b, 1hr, 3rbi, 2bb, 2k, 3r).

GAME REPORTS

DURHAM (RAYS) 3, LOUISVILLE 8: RHP Johnny Cueto (rehabbing irritation in right biceps/triceps) started for Louisville and pitched 4.2 scoreless innings (3h, 0bb, 3k, 83TP/55K)…RHP David Johnson (1-0) earned the win in relief (1.2ip, 2h, 1bb, 1k)…the Bats scored 8 runs on 10 hits…RF Fred Lewis (rehabbing strained right oblique) went 3-for-3 with a 3-run homer, 2 walks and 3 runs scored.

CHATTANOOGA (DODGERS) 10, CAROLINA 6: RHP Dallas Buck started for Carolina and allowed 4 runs (2er) on 7 hits in 5.1 innings (1bb, 6k)…LHP Lee Tabor (0-1) suffered the loss in relief (1ip, 4r)…the Mudcats plated 6 runs on 8 hits…3b Jake Kauhaulelio homered…SS Miguel Rojas (2r) and 2b Cody Puckett (2rbi, 1r) paced the offense with 2 hits apiece.

VISALIA (D’BACKS) 5, BAKERSFIELD 6: Bakersfield plated the winning run in the bottom of the ninth…RHP J.C. Sulbaran started for the Blaze and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 5.0 innings (2bb, 5k)…Bakersfield crossed the plate 6 times via 12 hits…LF Josh Fellhauer (double), 3b Eric Campbell (double, 2r, 1rbi, 1bb) and DH Carlos Mendez (2r) had 2 hits each.

WEST MICHIGAN (TIGERS) 3, DAYTON 7: The Dragons have now won 8 of their last 9 games to push their record over .500…LHP Tanner Robles started for Dayton and gave up 3 runs (2er) on 3 hits in 5.0 innings (3bb, 3k)…RHP Daniel Wolford pitched 2.0 scoreless innings to notch his 1st save (1h, 3k)…the Dragons dented the dish 7 times on 9 hits…RF Jaren Matthews homered.
