HOMER BAILEY
RHP Homer Bailey yesterday at Toledo started for Louisville and pitched 5.1 shutout innings (3h, 1bb, 6k, 72TP/48K)…he did not allow a runner to advance past second base…Bailey is currently on the Reds 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder impingement.
CAMPBELL’S BEEN MMM…MMM GOOD
3b Eric Campbell (Bakersfield) currently ranks among California League leaders in batting average (1st, .484), hits (1st, 30), doubles (1st, 10), on-base percentage (1st, .558), slugging percentage (1st, .774), runs (1st, 24), total bases (2nd, 48) and RBI (T2nd, 18)…he was named the league’s player of the week last week…Campbell, 25, last season played in the Independent Northern League.

LOUISVILLE 9, TOLEDO (TIGERS) 0:RHP Homer Bailey (rehabbing right shoulder impingement) started for Louisville and was brilliant in his 5.1 shutout innings, allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6 (72TP/48K)…RHP Chad Reineke earned the save with 3.0 scoreless innings (1h, 1k)…The Bats scored 9 runs on 13 hits…2b Kris Negron, 1b Eric Eymann and DH Yonder Alonso all homered…CF Dave Sappelt went 3-for-4.
CHATTANOOGA (DODGERS) 3, CAROLINA 4: RF Felix Perez belted a 2-out walkoff homer in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Mudcats…RHP Justin Lehr started for Carolina and pitched 4.1 scoreless innings (3h, 5bb, 3k)…RHP Jose Arredondo (rehabbing) earned the win in relief (1ip, 0h, 1k, 12TP/8K).
BAKERSFIELD BLAZE: The Blaze were off yesterday celebrating Kelly Clarkson’s 29th birthday…they’ll resume action tonight vs Visalia.
DAYTON DRAGONS: The Dragons were off yesterday celebrating the sixth anniversary of the first cloned dog, “Snuppy”, being born in South Korea…they’ll resume action tonight vs West Michigan.
