RHP Johnny Cueto is scheduled to start tonight for Louisville at Columbus…Cueto has been on the Reds 15-day disabled list with irritation in his right biceps/triceps.  

LHP Dontrelle Willis (Louisville) last  night in Columbus gave up a run on 6 hits in 5.0 innings…In 3 starts, Willis is 2-0 with a 0.53 ERA (17ip, 14h, 1r, 5bb, 5k, .222oba)…he’s holding left handed hitters to a .095 batting average (2-for-21). 

2b Cody Puckett (Carolina) in 13 games is batting .389 with 3 HR, 9 RBI and 13 runs scored (7bb, .750slg)…Puckett, 24, was selected by the Reds in the 8th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft…in 2009 for Dayton he hit 19 homers…he belted 18 homers last year for Lynchburg.


LOUISVILLE 3, COLUMBUS (INDIANS) 4: LHP Dontrelle Willis started for Louisville and allowed a run on 6 hits in 5.0 innings (2bb, 4k, 1hr, 102TP)…RHP Jerry Gil (0-1) gave up the winning run in the bottom of the ninth (0.2ip, 4h, 1k)…the Bats pushed across 3 runs on 7 hits…3b Todd Frazier paced the offense with 2 hits and an RBI.

TENNESSEE (CUBS) 9, CAROLINA 5: RHP James Avery (0-3) started for Carolina and was reached for 6 runs on 8 hits in 5.1 innings (3er, 0bb, 6k)…RHP Brad Boxberger overpowered batters in his 1.2 innings of relief (0h, 1bb, 3k, 97mph)…the Mudcats crossed the plate 5 times on 8 hits…RF Fred Lewis (rehabbing strained right oblique) went 0-for-1 with a walk…SS Jose Castro had 2 hits and 3 RBI…2b Cody Puckett went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, walk and 2 runs scored.

MODESTO (ROCKIES) 4, BAKERSFIELD 6: RHP J.C. Sulbaran (2-0) started for Bakersfield and allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 5.0 innings (2bb, 4k)…RHP Doug Salinas saved it (1ip, 2h, 0r)…the Blaze scored 6 runs on 8 hits…CF Andrew Means went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored…RF Stephen Hunt belted a 2-run homer.

BOWLING GREEN (RAYS) 1, DAYTON 4: The Dragons have won 4 straight…RHP Daniel Tuttle (1-0) was superb in his 6.0 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits (1bb, 6k)…RHP Chad “Shark Bait” Rogers pitched 2.0 scoreless innings of relief (1bb, 3k)…LHP Blaine Howell picked up his 2nd save (2k)…Dayton scored 4 times on 4 hits…SS Billy Hamilton went 1-for-3 with a walk…2b Devin Lohman doubled, walked and drove in 2.

I noticed the last serveral days that “Lynchburg” has been listed in the standings in the place of “Bakersfield”.
