WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, HAPPENS IN MESA
The Baseball Universe rotated on its axis today as the Reds played the Cubs twice, concurrently in two different cities (Las Vegas and Mesa).
Rod Serling served as the play-by-play announcer for both games.
The Reds beat the Cubbies by 1-run in both games. I went to the game in Mesa, where the Reds scored 7 runs on 10 hits.
Homer Bailey allowed a run on 6 hits in 4.0 innings (2bb, 5k).
Chris Heisey and Jeremy Hermida both homered. Heisey’s ball actually landed on the field in Vegas, interrupting that game for a moment. Weird.
Dontrelle Willis pitched today for the Reds and left the game in the bottom of the fifth inning after he suffered a sprained right ankle after tripping on a bat while backing up the plate on a 2-run single by Bobby Scales.
Here are photos from the Arizona version of Reds/Cubs…

Well, that’s all for now. I’ll be back later with more historic material.
Expect good news,
